The Kings U10 Girls Select team took the crown in the Buckeye Cup this past weekend, winning all four matches. In a true dominating fashion, the girls scored 28 goals and allowed 0. Outstanding job, Kings!

Kings Win Soccer Fest

Kings Select U9 Girls win Championship in the Silver Division of the 2013 Cincinnati West Soccer Fest. They went 3-0-1. The girls won a hard fought Championship game 2-1. Even though it rained the whole Championship game the girls played hard and earned the VICTORY! Great job girls!

Kings Girls Do Work Over Spring Break; win 3v3 challenge in Orlando, FL

Three girls from the Kings U10 Girls Select Zehnder team (Lilly Zehnder, Ashtyn Williams, and Brie Crittendon) traveled to Orlando, FL over spring break and dominated the Winter Haven Challenge Springtacular tournament, winning all 5 matches. The girls played all day without a substitue and scored 34 goals while allowing only 9. This championship qualifies them for the National tournament to be held in August at the ESPN Wide World of Sports complex at Disney World. Way to go girls!

Cincinnati Kings Leading Scorer, Headed to the Next Level

Luke Spencer, forward for the Cincinnati Kings (Men’s PDL Team), became the 2nd Kings player in two years to be picked in the Major League Soccer (MLS) SuperDraft. Spence, a Cincinnati native, was picked 23rd in the draft by the New England Revolution, who finished the 2012 season 9-17-8.

This past summer, Spencer led the Kings in goals scored and helped the Kings to their 2^nd straight winning season.

The New England Revolution also had the first overall selection in the draft, with which they picked up Andrew Farrell, a defender from the University of Louisville. In addition to Spencer, the Revolution also added forward/mid- fielder Donnie Smith of Charlotte and goalkeeper Luis Soffner of Indiana in the second round.

A Perfect Ending

Congratulations to the Kings U8 Girls Red team, coached by Ashley Barnes, on winning the U8 Red Division of the Forest Park Invitational. The team went a perfect 4-0 on their way to being crowned Champions. "What a great way to end the fall season, "said Head Coach Ashley Barnes. "Offensively we were on fire, scoring 21 goals in 4 games and even more impressive our defensive play was outstanding and did not give up a single goal." Go Kings!

Mental Performance Training

The Kings Soccer Academy and the Center for Human Performance have teamed up to create the Mental Performance Training Program. This program focuses on developing the mental toughness within the athlete. The MPT will inspire high achievement and test the limits of mental toughness, through a comprehensive mental conditioning program.

Areas of focus include;

· Character development

· Athletic development

· Self-awareness / public speaking

· Team building

· Developing highly effective thought patterns
